Arabic Music Days

Music from the Arab world has been central to the program of the Pierre Boulez Saal from the very beginning. Music, visual art, literature, and film are all part of the second Arabic Music Days, curated by Iraqi oud master Naseer Shamma, which take place from September 21 to 23. Following his previous appearances in Berlin’s new concert hall, Shamma and his ensemble will perform the weekend’s closing night concert. The musical lineup also includes Palestinian singer Moneim Adwan and Egyptian qanun virtuoso Bassam Abdelsattar, who will perform together with five of his young students.

The exhibition of works by Nasser Hussein is open all weekend, beginning Friday night. The films will be screened continuously on Saturday afternoon and on Sunday. Admission to these events is free.
