Following their moving performance of George Crumb’s Ancient Voices of Children at the Pierre Boulez Saal in March 2020, Zubin Mehta, Mojca Erdmann, and the Boulez Ensemble reunite to once again present this fascinating score. Crumb’s deeply poetic song cycle based on texts by Federico García Lorca is framed by Mozart’s iconic “Gran Partita” and Stravinsky’s neoclassical Octet—two works that share more connections than the almost 150 years that separate them might suggest.
This concert, originally announced for May 16, 2021, has been rescheduled for April 25, 2021.
