Cristina Gómez Godoy, principal oboist of the Staatskapelle Berlin since 2013, makes her Pierre Boulez Saal debut together with pianist Michail Lifits. Next to Benjamin Britten’s Metamorphoses after Ovid, a modern classic for oboe, the program also includes works by Greek composer Nikos Skalkottas, a student of Schoenberg, and Johann Wenzel Kalliwoda. For Charles Martin Loeffler’s Rhapsodies, written at the turn of the 20th century, violist Joost Keizer joins the lineup.

This concert was originally scheduled for May 30, 2018, and had to be postponed to this date due to illness.

Cristina Gómez Godoy and Michail Lifits perform Poulenc, Saint-Saens, Kalliwoda, and others
