Liederkreis on poems by Joseph von Eichendorff op. 39

Duration: c.: 1h 15m

Hungarian baritone Gyula Orendt, ensemble member of the Staatsoper Unter den Linden and an alumnus of its Opera Studio, scored a major success in June 2017 in Bizet’s Les Pêcheurs de perles, conducted by Daniel Barenboim. For his solo debut at the Pierre Boulez Saal, he takes on the German Romantic repertoire, including a selection of Schubert songs and Schumann’s Liederkreis on poems by Eichendorff. He is accompanied at the piano by Axel Bauni, professor for lied interpretation at Berlin’s University of the Arts.
