Approximate running time: 1h 45m with one intermission

Few contemporary performers on the kamancheh, the Persian “spiked fiddle,” have been more influential than Kayhan Kalhor, an acclaimed virtuoso on his instrument for several decades. For his second appearance at the Pierre Boulez Saal this season—following his duo performance with Kiya Tabassian in January—he is joined by Behnam Samani, one of the undisputed masters of traditional Persian percussion instruments, including the goblet drum tombak.

This concert has to be cancelled; we are aiming for a new date later this month. For more information, please check our website or email newsletter over the next few days.
