Following their joint recital with works by Schubert and Grieg in the 2017–18 season, Swedish soprano Miah Persson and her Scottish piano partner Malcolm Martineau return to the Pierre Boulez Saal. Their program is centered around Zemlinsky’s Walzer-Gesänge (“Waltz Songs”) and Alban Berg’s Seven Early Songs, both composed in Vienna in the years around 1900—one of the most fascinating and influential periods in European music history.
