Michael Barenboim belongs to a small group of violinists who perform music of the Baroque, 19th-century virtuoso repertoire, and compositions of our time with equal depth and mastery. In his solo recital, he tracks 250 years of Italian violin music: from Tartini’s “Devil’s Trill” Sonata, in the version by Fritz Kreisler, to a selection of the 24 Caprices, in which Paganini explored every technical challenge the instrument has to offer, to equally demanding contemporary works by Berio and Sciarrino.
