In a program of opera and concert, this season’s Barocktage festival at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden is focused on two direct contemporaries: Alessandro Scarlatti and Henry Purcell both had a decisive influence on the music of the 17th century. Once again the Pierre Boulez Saal hosts several concerts in cooperation with the Staatsoper.
The RIAS Kammerchor explores the origins and precursors of opera in Italy and England. The program features scenes from the madrigal comedy L'Amfiparnaso by Orazio Vecchi and from Monteverdi's operas, among them the famous Lamento d'Arianna, juxtaposed with excerpts from Masques and Semi-operas by Henry Purcell and John Blow.
Ticket sales through Staatsoper Unter den Linden; A limited number of tickets is available through the Pierre Boulez Saal.
