The Mozart Week at the Pierre Boulez Saal
Rolando Villazón has led the Salzburg Mozart Week as artistic director since 2019. Now his festival pays a visit to Berlin and the Pierre Boulez Saal, presenting highlights from a program that celebrates the music of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart every year around January 27, the composer’s birthday. In addition to concerts featuring members of Camerata Salzburg, the Quatuor Hermès, Adrien La Marca, and the Radek Baborák Ensemble, Villazón himself will read from Mozart’s letters, accompanied by music performed on Mozart’s own 1764 violin. An exhibition will illuminate the historical background, while Mozartian humor is provided by a Mozart lottery.
