There is no way around Beethoven for any young pianist. While concert halls around the world remained dark during the 2020–21 lockdown, Daniel Barenboim worked on the composer’s 32 piano sonatas with students and alumni of the Barenboim-Said Akademie as well as other rising young artists—passing on more than 60 years of experience performing these works. The full series of masterclasses, filmed at the Pierre Boulez Saal, is now being released to mark Maestro Barenboim’s 80th birthday in November 2022.
This video series is available exclusively to members of Pierre Boulez Saal Online. Register now to watch and get unlimited access to our full online catalogue.
