Written in 1853, Robert Schumann’s Third Violin Sonata was not published until 100 years after the composer’s death. Alina Ibragimova und Cédric Tiberghien—regular guests at the Pierre Boulez Saal as a duo and in other formations—perform this extraordinary, longforgotten work together with the Second Sonata, written a few years earlier, and music by Anton Webern and Arvo Pärt.
