Ludwig van Beethoven
Sonata for Violin and Piano in A major Op. 47 "Kreutzer Sonata"

One of today’s leading violinists and violin teachers, Antje Weithaas is regarded as a performer of acute musical intelligence—not least by her colleagues and her students, many of whom have gone on to international careers of their own. Together with pianist Enrico Pace she presents Beethoven's Violin Sonatas Opp. 23 and 47 at the Pierre Boulez Saal, pairing them with works by Robert and Clara Schumann as well as György Kurtág.

Due to illness, Dénes Várjon unfortunately had to cancel his appearance in this concert. We are very grateful to Enrico Pace for stepping in at short notice.
