Few other eras had a more profound influence on artists of all kinds in Europe and far beyond than the one that marks the beginning of European cultural history: Greek antiquity and its mythology. A group of prominent artists and soloists, together with the Boulez Ensemble, present a stylistically wide-ranging program that marks the core of this season’s focus on Greece. The centerpiece is the 1931 Octet for four strings and four woodwinds by Nikos Skalkottas.
