D-bü (spoken as in German „Debut“) is a new competition of German music academies and conservatories that takes place for the first time in December 2017 in Berlin. Its distinguishing feature is the range of entries: almost all kinds of performances are possible, as long as they are not “normal” classical concerts. As a new format that’s radically different from traditional competitions, D-bü puts the focus on innovation and originality.

For its concluding event, which will feature all entries to the competition, D-bü comes to the Pierre Boulez Saal. The eight entry projects will be presented in short video clips, with musical performances by PODIUM Festival Strings. Following the presentation the winners will be announced.
