Daniil Trifonov sets out on an extraordinary journey through the piano literature of the 20th century: performing one seminal work from each decade, he reveals its breathtaking stylistic diversity and rapid development—from Berg’s post-Romantic Opus 1 to Messiaen’s kaleidoscopic interplay of colors and Stockhausen’s avant-garde rigidity, to the minimalist rhythms of John Adams.

This concert, originally announced for November 9, 2020, was rescheduled to May 16, 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The concert of the Boulez Ensemble conducted by Zubin Mehta, originally scheduled for this date, has been moved to April 25, 2021.
