Sonata for Trumpet and Piano
Between 1935 and 1955, Paul Hindemith composed more than two dozen sonatas for piano and various string and wind instruments. A multi-instrumentalist, he performed most of them himself, together with his wife Gertrud at the piano. Pianist Alexander Melnikov has assembled an extraordinary group of soloists to present a selection of these many-faceted works at the Pierre Boulez Saal.
Rescheduled from the original date in November 2021, which was canceled due to illness.
Approximate running time: 1h 30m without intermission
