Claude Debussy
Préludes (Book I & II)

When asked what he would most have liked to be, Claude Debussy once responded, “a painter.” His Préludes for piano, written between 1909 and 1913, resemble musical paintings in an astonishingly rich palette of colors that invites audiences to give free reign to their imagination. In his solo debut at the Pierre Boulez Saal, Jean-Yves Thibaudet performs the entire two-volume cycle of these landmark works.
