Le Sacre du printemps (Version for two Pianos)
The 1913 premiere of Stravinsky’s Le Sacre du printemps resulted in one of the most infamous scandals in music history. The piece haunted Claude Debussy as a “beautiful nightmare” after he performed the four-hand piano version together with the composer at a private gathering. Katia and Marielle Labèque contrast Stravinsky’s own two-piano arrangement with Debussy’s Six épigraphes antiques and Schubert’s late F-minor Fantasy.
