One of the most influential and versatile performers of classical Persian music, Kayhan Kalhor returns to the Pierre Boulez Saal. Following his fascinating debut last year, he is heard this season in two different programs and lineups: For this first concert, he joins Iranian-Canadian virtuoso Kiya Tabassian in a setar duo, performing on the traditional long-necked lute. In June, he switches that instrument for the kamancheh, in a program presented together with Behnam Samani on tombak.
