A Thousand Thoughts – A Live Documentary with the Kronos Quartet
Written and Directed by Sam Green and Joe Bini / In English

With performances of more than a thousand newly commissioned works, groundbreaking collaborations with artists from many other disciplines, and a strong commitment to nurturing new generations of musicians, the Kronos Quartet has redefined the role of the string quartet for the late 20th and 21st centuries. Opening this year's Quartet Week, the live documentary A Thousand Thoughts employs sound, images, and words to immerse viewers and listeners in this musical cosmos: interviews, photos, and archival footage deliver the visual background to the history of the ensemble, narrated on stage by director Sam Green. The Kronos Quartet itself provides the live soundtrack —performing excerpts from a variety of works that have helped shape its path.

We regret that the Kronos Quartet had to cancel its two concerts during this season's Quartet Week due to current travel restrictions. A new date will be announced later.

Approximate running time: 1h 15m without intermission
