In Esperanto, leonkoro means “lionheart”—and with their thrilling performances and fearless interpretations, the four young musicians of the Leonkoro Quartet, founded in 2019, have quickly become one of the most exciting young string quartets on the scene. At the Pierre Boulez Saal, they present classics of the quartet repertoire by Brahms and Janáček as well as the 2011 work Entr’acte by Pulitzer Prize–winning American composer Caroline Shaw.
