I put together notes that love each other. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
The association YEHUDI MENUHIN Live Music Now Berlin e.V. aims to combine supporting talented young musicians with the social mission to let people participate in the healing power of music—especially people who cannot attend concerts due to their circumstances.
On the occasion of this charity concert for Live Music Now Berlin under the patronage of Daniel Barenboim, the Leonkoro Quartet, which was founded in 2019 and is itself sponsored by the association, and the actor Gerd Wameling will perform at the Pierre Boulez Saal. The quartet was recently awarded the Jürgen Ponto Foundation Music Prize and won first prizes at the Concours International de Quatuors à Cordes in Bordeaux and the Wigmore Hall International String Quartet Competition. The ensemble is currently studying with Heime Müller at the Musikhochschule Lübeck and with Günter Pichler at the Escuela superior de música Reina Sofía Madrid and receives further guidance from former members of the Artemis Quartett at Berlin's University of the Arts. The musical program will be complemented by two readings by Gerd Wameling, who has been closely associated with Live Music Now Berlin for several years.
