Swiss baritone Manuel Walser—a member of the Vienna State Opera—made his Pierre Boulez Saal debut as part of the Schubert Week. He was joined by pianist Jonathan Ware, a frequent guest at the hall and a faculty member of the Barenboim-Said Akademie.

For the third consecutive year, Thomas Hampson invited renowned lied singers and the most promising talents of the younger generation, together with their piano partners, to dedicate an entire week to the world of the Schubert lied—even in these challenging times.

This concert, followed by an interactive Q&A session, was streamed live on Friday, January 22, at 8 pm and will remain available for free on-demand viewing through April 30, 2021.

Approximate running time: 1h 30m with one intermission
