Folk off! – Memories of Europe for Cello Octet
As a soloist, a member of the Boulez Ensemble, and as part of a trio with Michael and Daniel Barenboim, cellist Kian Soltani has long been a regular at the Pierre Boulez Saal. Now he curates an entire program dedicated to his own instrument, continuing the tradition of themed concerts that in past seasons have featured the clarinet, oboe, and horn. Together with fellow cellists from around the world, he performs original compositions and arrangements from the Baroque era to the present time.
Approximate running time: 2h with one intermission
