The young Pierre Boulez described Alban Berg’s Lyric Suite as “one of the greatest masterworks of the repertoire.” The piece had a major influence on his only string quartet, Livre pour quatuor. Shortly before his death in 2016, Boulez revised the score in collaboration with the Quatuor Diotima. The Paris-based ensemble now brings its interpretation to the Quartet Week at the Pierre Boulez Saal, together with the Lyric Suite and Schubert’s “Rosamunde” Quartet.

There will be no intermission. Doors open one hour before the concert.
