The very first and the final one of Beethoven’s violin sonatas bookend Renaud Capuçon and Kit Armstrong’s duo recital at the Pierre Boulez Saal. Between these two works, the artists perform Arnold Schoenberg’s late Phantasy for Violin with Piano Accompaniment, written during the final years of the composer’s life in his American exile.
