The concertos of Antonio Vivaldi form a cornerstone of the flute repertoire. Stefan Temmingh, one of the world’s leading flute virtuosos, performs them as “miniature operas”—taking these works’ diverse character and often programmatic titles as the starting point for his lively and colorful interpretations. Together with the Capricornus Consort Basel he explores connections between the world of Vivaldi and compositions by Johann Sebastian Bach, Markus Zahnhausen, and Fausto Romitelli.

Approximate running time: 1h 45m with one intermission
