Last season, the Pierre Boulez Saal celebrated the 220th birthday of Franz Schubert with complete cycles of the composer’s symphonies and piano sonatas, as well as the launch of the multi-year song project. The extended Schubert year continues in 2017–18 with the Streichquartett der Staatskapelle Berlin performing all 15 of Schubert’s string quartets and, together with cellist Frans Helmerson the String quintet over the course of four concerts, beginning in December.
