The Art of Being Human
World Premiere
Music by William Byrd, John Dowland, William Lawes, Henry Purcell, and others
The Pierre Boulez Saal is transformed into a laboratory for the “art of being human”: music of the 16th and 17th centuries, dance, and visual art come together in this interdisciplinary performance created specifically for this unique space. Laurence Dreyfus and his ensemble Phantasm, choreographer Sommer Ulrickson, and visual artist Alexander Polzin explore the healing potential that art––a genuinely human form of expression––holds for our own lives and for our interaction with others.
Watch a conversation with Sommer Ulrikson, Laurence Dreyfus and Alexander Polzin.
