In a program of opera and concert, this season’s Barocktage festival at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden is focused on two direct contemporaries: Alessandro Scarlatti and Henry Purcell both had a decisive influence on the music of the 17th century. Once again the Pierre Boulez Saal hosts several concerts in cooperation with the Staatsoper.

For their second appearance at the Pierre Boulez Saal, the Tallis Scholars present vocal works of Purcell and his musical predecessors Orlando Gibbons, Thomas Tomkins, and Pelham Humfrey.
