In the follow-up concert to its 2019 Pierre Boulez Saal debut, Trio con Brio Copenhagen once again opens the program with one of today’s most frequently performed Danish composers: Hans Abrahamsen’s Traumlieder (“Dream Songs”), a re-working of his 1984 Six Pieces, are dedicated to the ensemble. The program also includes works by Ravel and Brahms, whose Op. 8 Trio is another example of an unusual fusion of early and late style: Brahms completed the score in 1854, only to revisit it almost four decades later to give it its definitive shape.
