Syrian singer and oud player Waed Bouhassoun returns to Berlin to premiere a new program and close the Pierre Boulez Saal season, joined by the ensemble Orpheus XXI, which is led by her and was founded by Jordi Savall in 2016. Performing traditional songs from Iran, Türkiye, Eastern Europe, and Africa, the group explores the ritual meaning of music for three of the most fundamental events in the cycle of human life: birth, marriage, and death.
