Symphony No. 41 in C major K. 551 "Jupiter"

Founded in 1999 by Daniel Barenboim and Edward Said, the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra began as a workshop for young musicians from Israel, Palestine, and several Arab countries to promote coexistence and intercultural dialogue. It has long since become a global musical ambassador of peace and understanding—and the forerunner and inspiration for the Barenboim-Said Akademie and the Pierre Boulez Saal. In honor of its opening, the orchestra and its Artistic Director pay tribute with Mozart’s three final symphonies. Written within the space of a few weeks, three years before the composer’s death, they stand among the crowning achievements of his career and of the entire Classical era.

Approximate running time: 1h 45m with one intermission
